“If I was going to commit to someone, I wanted him to be worth the worry, worth the part of me I was going to give him.” If I’m Being Honest Happy #ShakespeareDay AND #worldbookday my #bookish friends! I’m here today to wish a very happy #BookBirthday to @wibbs_ink and @austins_b and their second novel, IF I’M BEING HONEST! An updated remake of 10 Things I Hate About You/Taming of the Shrew taking place at an LA High School, I can already tell I am going to love this book with every fiber of my being. I love second chances and aspiring to be the person you want to be. I love complicated protagonists who aren’t always likeable. A HUGE shout-out to @PenguinTeen for the advanced finished copy of If I’m Being Honest and the paperback copy of Always Never Yours! I can’t wait to dive in. Twitter saw it first. Super obsessed with the cover for Always Never Yours. Even the title is cute! It gives me lots of To All the Boys and Jenny Han vibes, which is a good sign since the To All the Boys series is my absolute favorite. . I was in recovery mode sporting my post-@YallWest tan and messy topknot bun so I figured it was the perfect chance to recreate the cover. ‍♀️ I give major props to the cover model for looking cute even with that awkward posture because I sure as heck couldn’t pull it off half as well no matter how hard I tried. . Always Never Yours is out May 22 and sounds like the perfect summer read to add to your TBR piles. Check out the summary below. —— Summary —— Megan Harper is the girl before. All her exes find their one true love right after dating her. It’s not a curse or anything, it’s just the way things are, and Megan refuses to waste time feeling sorry for herself. Instead, she focuses on pursuing her next fling, directing theater, and fulfilling her dream school’s acting requirement in the smallest role possible. . But her plans quickly crumble when she’s cast as none other than Juliet—yes, that Juliet—in her high school’s production. It’s a nightmare. No—a disaster. Megan’s not an actress and she’s certainly not a Juliet. . Then she meets Owen Okita, an aspiring playwright who agrees to help Megan catch the eye of a sexy stagehand in exchange for help writing his new script. Between rehearsals and contending with her divided family, Megan begins to notice Owen—thoughtful, unconventional, and utterly unlike her exes, and wonders: shouldn’t a girl get to play the lead in her own love story? ••• # # #Bookstagram #Bookstagrammer #BookstagramFeature #BookishFeatures #BookishGlee #Bookworm #Bibliophile #Bookaholic #BookBlogger #Books #Goodreads #ILoveReading #Reading #Reader #YA #YoungAdult #Fiction #YallWest #AlwaysNeverYours

“It means you are, like, this unafraid force of being. You know exactly who you want to be, and you never pretend to be someone you’re not. It’s inspiring.” ― Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka, Always Never Yours – – – At the end of the day, I just really LOVE a romance. I mean I love a lot of genres (contemporary, dystopian, sci-fi, fantasy), but if a book includes an adorable, swoon-worthy romance, I’m almost guaranteed to like the book even more. I really liked Always Never Yours, 4/5 ❤️s! The main character Megan is a high school theater director and serial dater of all the boys right BEFORE they find their true love, but not a main character we get to read often in contemporary YA. Megan is popular, flirtatious, loud, outgoing, but NOT the mean girl, which is typically the trope that accompanies these character traits. She’s cast as the lead in Romeo and Juliet, when all she wanted was a bit part to fulfill an acting credit for her college applications. I adored her! If you are a fan of contemporary romances, Shakespeare, friendships with sweet boys that turn into something more, an author duo who are a couple IRL (I actually don’t know any others of those, but who ISN’T going to be a fan of that?!?) then definitely add this one to your TBR!! – – – What is the most recent book that you added to your TBR because of bookstagram? @book_junkee posted A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer and I’m SO excited about this book!! I love Kemmerer’s contemporaries and ACSDAL is a Beauty and the Beast retelling!

Hello! I’m happy to say that my hiatus is over, and I’m excited to be back. This time around, I plan to also be more active on my blog site where I’m also going to integrate more of my college experience. I also have a bunch of new bookish ideas/reviews I can’t wait to share 🙂 ————————— During the summertime, I often find myself picking up contemporary romances to read. They’re fun, lighthearted, and bingeable with their cute romances that always put a smile on my face. Some of my favorites include: -The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson -Always and Forever Yours, Lara Jean by Jenny Han -Always and Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka With the following contemporaries on my TBR this month: -Save the Date by Morgan Matson -The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo : What are your favorite genres to read during the summertime? . #bookstagram #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerd #ireadya #contemporaryromance #pink #floral #flowers #bibliophile #vscobooks #vscoreads #booksofinstagram #reading #bookish #bookishfeatures #bookstagramfeature #booknerdigans #bibliophile #goodreads #booklove #flowerstagram #peonies #carnations #penguinteen #alwaysneveryours
