MONDAY HUGS, BOOKIES— QOTD: What’s something that made you happy today? . We’ve hit the final week of #TheBeautifulBeDamned Read-Along! I’m rereading, so I know what the ending holds. But rereading, I’ve also picked up on all these nuances that I missed the first time around, and I’m excited to see how that’ll impact my experience of the ending. What I’m loving where I’m at in the story right now, is watching Celine’s relationships play out. Both her friendship to Pippa and her (let’s see what happens here) relationship to Bastien. What book are you reading this weekend? I will be continuing with #TheBeautifulBeDamned read-a-long that I’m participating in! I can’t believe we are almost done with this book! I can’t believe I haven’t read this week’s chapters – this week FLEW by! My goal is to finish weekend. I’m having so much fun rereading this. I don’t have anything to currently add since I haven’t read this week’s chapters yet, but I’m curious to see how the rest plays out (even though I know the ending), but more so all the things that lead up to the reveal of who this “spooky, creepy” character! I’ve really missed all my vampire reads, but I am extremely grateful to @reneeahdieh and for her writing this epic story! I mean, vampires and New Orleans?! Seriously, what could be better than that?! If you are participating in the read a long, who is your favorite character? Do you have any predictions? Of course, going into the final week, we need to have the book finished. So, we are reading chapters: “Darkness Incarnate” to “Epilogue” (AKA the end). The sequel, The Damned is coming out on July 7th! Have you read @reneeahdieh’s YA Historical Fantasy, THE BEAUTIFUL? @penguinteen gifted me a copy last year and I loved it, 4.5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨. It was packed full with mysterious characters and sultry New Orleans atmosphere. Add in romance, murder, and a heroine torn between a life of quiet expectations and a desire for dark, dangerous thrills, and you’ve got a book that I didn’t want to stop reading. (whispers loudly, “plus, vampires”) • So, I did a freaking happy dance when I was notified last week that an e-copy of the sequel, THE DAMNED, was coming my way! (Another whisper, “that’s a bit of photoshop above… shhhhh, don’t tell.”) Another huge thank you to @penguinteen for the early gift.
