The main character, Becca, is on the run from her stepfather because of her ability to hear thoughts.

No one knows (except the author!) what has happened to Becca’s mother.

The character Seth Darrow has a grandfather called Ralph who is an actual person on Whidbey Island. The house I use in the book for Ralph’s house actually belongs to the real Ralph.

If you came to Langley, on Whidbey Island, you would be able to walk in the footsteps of every one of the characters. Would would be able to see where they live, where they go to school, where they hide out, where they work. Everything.

The series is a saga. It starts when Becca is 14 years old and it ends when she in 18 years old.

There are also adult characters in the novel and most of them are real people in and around Langley where the book takes place.
